Icarus Every morning, you lift up your glorious, golden head. I watch you from my little house on the outcropping above the shore – a parched shore, salt-crystaled, fishing coracles strewn like seashells. You are above all this, the shimmering tar-fires, the reek of fish, the keening of gulls. I see you staring down onto the sea which is so shiningly blue blue blue it pains my eyes and seems that this is an island in the cloudless sky. Every morning I gaze at you, your heartbreaking beauty, your cruel radiance. I can loose myself staring into your bright eyes, my love. “Eek!” Ah. My reverie is broken

Letters from Below Being the letters of Rand Remington Cromwell Dear Cousin, I am raising demons in cardboard boxes. They’re kind of cute. I just wish they would blink once in a while. Ever since my father has taken over the Hatchery, we’ve had varying shapes, sizes, and types of demons as the Lowerarchy sees fit. We train them to be companions and messengers for the nobility of the Below. My duties regarding them are pretty simple – I clean their nests, feed the little ones with chopsticks, and pet them to acclimate them to being handled. I am the daughter of a sailor.

There is pure sea water rushing through my veins & my vocabulary can be just as colorful. But, how do I begin to tell you we all have jungles growing & growling in our chests?- Wild, fierce, untouchable by human hands? Sometimes, I like to pretend it’s Draco residing in this chest of mine- his smoke clogging my lungs, choking & suffocating me. I have forgotten how to write poetry- or anything with a shred of feeling. I have no space left within myself for celestial, fire breathing dragons- because I realize now when I look in the mirror, I do not see my father.

See above!! I am sorry if I have neglected this page . . It is that just so much is happening in life now - school, exams, more tests (f***the school system!), hawk eggs-  spring in general (gah humidity!) I suppose that I am on hiatus until things calm down.

Didn't die - had a great time! MMmmmmm . . . . . Austrian food. I should be rolling home, but I walked everywhere every day. (A lot. Like 40 km a day). I'll be posting pictures soon, and telling stories, singing songs (haha nope). Bis spa:ter!

Dribbling off to Austria!

That's right folks - Ich werde Osterrich gehen! I leave on Tuesday (that's tomorrow) so I will be abandoning you few lovely folks for 2 weeks. Hopefully I won't die on the flight over. Hopefully I'll get there safely, eat Austrian food, find some cute German girls (haha nope!), and bring back lots of loot. Bis Spater! Darish
